Succinic acid news

A new facility in Montmeló, Spain, produces 10,000 metric tons of biobased succinic acid annually. The process uses renewable materials and has a low carbon footprint. A second facility is planned.

The alliance has successfully scaled bio-succinic acid production in Leuna, meeting commercial yield and quality targets, and securing process guarantees for future plants.

The plant will produce 10 kilotons/year of bio-based succinic acid, offering a renewable alternative to fossil feedstocks. It will use a yeast-based fermentation process, improving eco-footprint and efficiency.
