Investment Plans
The General Director of Serbia Zijin Copper, Jian Ximing, announced that the company plans to invest USD 1.26 billion in Serbia. Combined with Zijin Mining, the total planned investments in Serbia exceed USD 3 billion.
Current Investments
To date, Zijin has invested USD 640 million in RTB Bor. These investments include expanding and repairing facilities, as well as initiatives in environmental protection and workplace safety.
Environmental and Safety Initiatives
Jian Ximing highlighted that the company has planted over 56,000 saplings in the industrial zone and reduced workplace injuries by 88% this year.
Government Support
Serbian Minister of Mining and Energy, Zorana Mihajlovic, emphasized the importance of Zijin's investments and assured the ministry's support for ongoing projects, investments, and environmental protection plans. She urged the company to define a development strategy for both Zijin Copper and Zijin Mining.
