Introduction of WISA-LNG Spruce Plywood
UPM has launched WISA-LNG Spruce plywood to meet the growing demand for materials in LNG transportation. This new product is designed for insulation elements in LNG cargo tanks.
Collaboration with GTT
Developed in collaboration with GTT, a leader in liquefied gas transport and storage, the plywood has been extensively tested to ensure it meets stringent LNG application requirements.
Material Properties and Benefits
Spruce plywood offers excellent insulation, durability, and lightweight construction, essential for maintaining LNG in its liquid state during transport. It complements existing WISA-LNG Birch plywood products.
Production and Capacity
Manufactured at UPM Pellos Plywood Mills in Finland, the new product increases UPM's delivery capacity, with LNG plywood now produced at three mills.
