Overview

Uniper and NKT have entered into a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for electricity sourced from Uniper's new photovoltaic asset in Wilhelmshaven. This agreement marks a significant step in enhancing sustainability and utilizing regionally sourced renewable energy.

Solar Park Details

The solar park, named Voslapper Groden, is situated on the ash landfill of a former coal-fired power plant in Wilhelmshaven. It boasts an installed capacity of 17.2 megawatt peak (MWp) and is projected to generate approximately 17,872 MWh of renewable energy annually.

Agreement Terms

Under the ten-year physical PPA, NKT will acquire 100% of the forecasted renewable electricity and all available Guarantees of Origin (GoOs) from the plant. This arrangement supports NKT's production facilities in Nordenham, located near the PV site, as well as in Cologne, Germany.
