Agreement Details
Uniper Global Commodities SE and Vermilion Energy Germany GmbH & Co. KG have signed a two-year contract for the supply of natural gas. Vermilion will provide all low and high calorific natural gas from its German operations to Uniper.
Vermilion's Role
Vermilion, a subsidiary of Calgary-based Vermilion Energy Inc., has been active in Germany since 2014. It has expanded its presence through strategic acquisitions and partnerships, becoming a key onshore producer in Lower Saxony.
Production Capacity
By 2025, Vermilion's production is expected to reach approximately 2.4 billion kWh of natural gas, sufficient to meet the annual demand of about 220,000 households. This highlights the importance of local production in enhancing energy security.
