- Mechanically recycled PE/PA film grade from UBE received EU food-contact approval after accredited migration and compliance testing.
- UBE acquired majority shares in Manufacturas Paulowsky S.L.U. (Paulowsky) in December 2024, integrating its mechanical-recycling capabilities.
- The UBECycle recycling process and material traceability are RecyClass-certified under EN 15343:2007 and aligned with the Recycling Process Audit Scheme and ISO 22095 controlled blending standards.
Food-contact approval
UBE announced that a UBECycle® mechanically recycled polyethylene/polyamide (PE/PA) film grade obtained EU food-contact approval following analysis by an accredited entity, including migration and compliance testing; approval applies only to specific grades and requires individual homologation under defined conditions of use.
Regulatory compliance
The applicable European food-contact requirements have been fully addressed and documented for this grade, confirming suitability under the specified conditions of use.
Recycling process and certification
UBE's UBECycle product line converts industrial PE/PA and polyamide film waste via controlled mechanical recycling; the recycling process and material traceability are RecyClass certified in accordance with EN 15343:2007, meeting the Recycling Process Audit Scheme and aligned with ISO 22095 controlled blending standards to ensure process control and consistent material quality.
Integration of Paulowsky and commercialization
The approval builds on UBE's integration of Paulowsky's mechanical-recycling capabilities (majority shares acquired December 2024) and the ongoing scale-up and commercialization of UBECycle grades; UBE will expand the UBECycle portfolio and support customers with regulatory, certification and technical requirements for recycled polyamide applications.
