TOYO completes third fertilizer line for Indorama in Nigeria

Project
Toyo Engineering completed a third fertilizer production line for Indorama Fertilizer FZE at the Port Harcourt-area complex in Rivers State, Nigeria. The delivery includes a 2,300 metric tons/day ammonia plant and a 4,000 metric tons/day urea plant, described as one of the world's largest single-line urea facilities, plus associated utility facilities.
Technology and scope
The ammonia plant uses technology licensed from Kellogg Brown & Root (KBR). The urea plant employs TOYO's proprietary ACES21™ urea synthesis technology; TOYO licensed the urea technology and carried out Basic Engineering for the urea unit. For the entire fertilizer plant, TOYO provided Detailed Engineering, Procurement, Construction support and Commissioning support.
Execution and schedule
The contract was awarded in 2023. Most engineering and procurement work was executed by Toyo Engineering India Private Limited under TOYO Group's global execution framework. Leveraging experience from the first and second lines (completed in 2017 and 2021), the project achieved a smooth start‑up and stable operation and reached completion in June 2026.
