In January 2026, Alva Confecções S.A., a key sewing base for Toray Group, will open an Ultrasuede showroom and stock sales point in Sintra, Portugal. This initiative aims to enhance the European supply chain by leveraging existing facilities for new sewing operations.
Target Industries
The showroom will primarily focus on the local interior and furniture industry, while also extending its reach to fashion, accessories, consumer electronics, and automotive sectors. This expansion is expected to strengthen Toray's proposal capabilities across various applications.
Design and Collaboration
The showroom's design is crafted by Rui Pereira and Ryosuke Fukusada, transforming part of Toray's factory into a space that showcases the brand's material library. The showroom will also feature the new pouf and benches “ANZA,” designed in collaboration with Danish furniture brand PLEASE WAIT to be SEATED, using Ultrasuede as upholstery.
