Visit Overview
On August 25, representatives from the Atyrau Oblast Ecology Department, led by Askar Zhussupov, visited the Tengiz field to assess environmental facilities. Key sites included the Tengiz Eco Center, Water Treatment, and Water Recycling Facilities.
Environmental Monitoring
The automated emission monitoring system, completed in 2024, allows Tengizchevroil to transmit real-time environmental data to the National Data Bank.
Waste Management
The Tengiz Eco Center, operational since 2004, focuses on waste management, sorting, processing, and disposal. By the end of Q2 2025, 82% of waste, covering over 35 types, was recycled and reused.
Water Recycling
Water Treatment and Recycling Facilities clean and reuse up to 49% of water, with treated wastewater meeting TCO plant standards through reverse osmosis.
