Danimer operates two facilities with more than 200,000 sq ft of laboratories, manufacturing facilities and testing space. The company’s portfolio centres on fermentation-based biopolymer manufacturing and includes polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs) and polylactic acid (PLA). Its technologies are applied in additives, aqueous coatings, fibers, films, hot-melt adhesives and injection-molded articles for single-use products such as straws, cutlery and packaging. Danimer holds over 480 granted patents and pending applications in more than 20 countries for manufacturing processes and biopolymer formulations.
Strategic intent
Teknor Apex says the acquisition expands its sustainable materials portfolio by adding bio-based and biodegradable options and custom formulation know-how. The companies expect the transaction to accelerate R&D, scale operations and open new end-market applications while supporting customers’ sustainability goals.
