BSB Innovation Award Recognition

Symrise AG has been awarded first prize in the raw materials category of the BSB Innovation Award® Environment for its Hydrolite® 5 green. This award highlights solutions that positively impact the environment.

Sustainable Production

Hydrolite® 5 green is produced from 100% renewable and biodegradable raw materials, including sugarcane bagasse and corncobs. These materials are certified by ProTerra, FSC, and PEFC. The production process is designed to minimize water and energy consumption, emphasizing Symrise's commitment to sustainability.

Performance and Applications

Recognized for its high performance, Hydrolite® 5 green is used in cosmetics, particularly in hair and skin care products. It offers benefits such as excellent pigment dispersion, solubilization, stabilization, transparency, and emulsion particle size reduction.

Expansion in Europe

In 2025, Symrise expanded its production capabilities by opening a new unit in Granada, Spain. This complements the existing site in Charleston, South Carolina, and enhances the supply chain, allowing Symrise to serve European customers more efficiently.
