Worley was appointed feasibility technical advisor to St George Mining for the Araxá niobium and rare earths project in Minas Gerais, Brazil, led by Worley Consulting Brasil and delivered through Worley Engenharia Ltda; the mandate covers strategic consulting, engineering and project management across feasibility and cost studies, metallurgical and process engineering, mine planning, process plant and tailings design, procurement and construction.

Project resource and applications

St George has defined a world-class niobium and rare earths resource at Araxá; these critical minerals are used in steelmaking, advanced electronics and battery technologies.

Delivery model and local integration

Worley Consulting will coordinate an integrated delivery model to provide strategic advisory, study management and local stakeholder interface and will work with St George’s in‑country development team; the Araxá project sits in an established mining region with existing infrastructure and a skilled workforce.
