Incident
An incident occurred at 02:30 a.m. in the 5L 3900 finished oils divisional packaging unit at the Arzew refinery located in the industrial zone of Arzew.
Response
The situation was fully contained at 04:40 a.m. after activation of the Mutual Assistance Plan, deployment of resources by the Tactical Command Post and support from Civil Protection services.
Impact and follow-up
No injuries or casualties were reported. SONATRACH said it has taken all necessary measures to determine the causes of the incident and that production of fuels and lubricants and domestic supply from the Arzew refinery were not affected.
