Construction start

The S1 full-scale test well has begun drilling, marking the start of construction for Sinopec’s first petroleum engineering pilot platform led by the Petroleum Engineering Technology Research Institute.

Platform scope

The platform will focus on drilling and completion equipment, downhole tools and instruments, and key engineering materials, providing full-condition simulation, full-process testing and post-completion integrated technology evaluation.

Objectives

Planned outcomes include shortening R&D cycles, reducing industrialization risks and improving efficiency to accelerate technology iteration and deployment.

Execution and risk control

The Engineering Institute carried out coordinated planning and preparatory work and formed a task force with Victory Petroleum Engineering Company to optimize the S1 construction plan and manage technical and safety risks for stable operations.
