Overview

Siemens unveiled the Eigen Engineering Agent at Hannover Messe, a commercially available AI system that plans, executes and validates industrial automation engineering tasks end to end within real engineering systems.

Capabilities

The agent writes automation code, configures devices and HMI visualizations, iterates until predefined performance benchmarks are met, and automates repetitive engineering tasks to free engineers for system-level work.

Pilot outcomes

In pilot deployments with more than 100 companies across 19 countries, including ANDRITZ Metals, CASMT and Prism Systems, Siemens reports 2–5× faster execution, up to 80% higher solution quality and up to 50% greater engineering efficiency for assigned tasks.

Availability and context

The Eigen Engineering Agent is production-ready, available to over 600,000 TIA Portal users via the Siemens Xcelerator portfolio, and is part of Siemens’ broader industrial AI initiative, including a €1 billion investment announced in November and a reported 1,500+ AI experts and 2,000+ AI patent families.
