The Sanmar Group: TA'ZIZ feedstock deal, Chemplast MoU and Flowserve Sanmar upgrades
- TA’ZIZ will supply The Sanmar Group with over 350,000 tonnes per annum of petrochemical feedstocks produced at Al Ruwais to support PVC plants in Port Said, Egypt and Cuddalore, India.
- Chemplast Sanmar signed an MoU with the Tamil Nadu government to invest at its Mettur, Salem plant for refrigerant-gas manufacture, with the projects expected to create over 200 jobs.
- Flowserve Sanmar originated as Durametallic India in 1976, expanded shopfloor space by nearly 30,000 sq ft in June 1999, invested in new-generation CNC machines and added setup-time reduction improvements in December 2025.
- Vijay Sankar spoke at the Hindustan Chamber of Commerce session on 29 September 2025 about Tamil Nadu's growth and manufacturing; dancer Kumari Kamala died on 23 November 2025 at age 91.
TA'ZIZ supply agreement
The Sanmar Group signed two product sale agreement term sheets with TA’ZIZ during ADIPEC for long-term supply of petrochemical feedstocks. TA’ZIZ will produce the products at its Al Ruwais Industrial City facility in the Al Dhafra Region, Abu Dhabi, and will supply over 350,000 tonnes per annum to support Sanmar’s PVC production in Port Said, Egypt and Cuddalore, India.
Chemplast Sanmar MoU
Chemplast Sanmar Limited entered a Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Tamil Nadu to invest in refrigerant-gas manufacture at its Mettur, Salem plant. The investments are expected to create more than 200 jobs; Chemplast and other Sanmar businesses have a history of investing in Tamil Nadu.
Flowserve Sanmar developments
Flowserve Sanmar began as Durametallic India in 1976 as a joint venture to manufacture mechanical seals. The company expanded its shopfloor by nearly 30,000 sq ft in June 1999, invested in new-generation CNC machines, broadened its product portfolio beyond chemicals into multiple process sectors, and added setup-time reduction improvements in December 2025 to boost throughput.
