Introduction of New Materials
SABIC is presenting its latest medical-grade thermoplastics at MD&M West 2026, addressing key challenges in performance, regulatory compliance, and production. The company is showcasing specialty materials suitable for drug delivery, patient testing, and surgical applications.
Innovative Polycarbonate Copolymers
SABIC has introduced a new family of polycarbonate (PC) copolymers certified under UL746G. These materials are designed to meet stringent industry standards and enhance device performance.
Fluoropolymer Alternatives
To address restrictions on per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), SABIC offers alternatives like ULTEM™ HU resins and SILTEM HU copolymers for medical tubing. The LNP™ ELCRES™ NPCRX9612U resin is also UL746G-certified as non-PFAS, suitable for device housings.
Enhanced Device Performance
SABIC's LNP ELCRES CRX copolymer resins provide superior chemical resistance for equipment and device housings. Additionally, LNP SLX grades offer impact and UV resistance, exemplified by their use in Rotaid’s AED cabinet. ULTEM HU resins contribute lightweight strength to surgical robot components and are compatible with common sterilization methods.
Support and Resources
SABIC supports its product portfolio with a Healthcare Product Policy and extensive technical resources available at its Centers of Excellence and Global Application Technology facilities.
