RWE Wins Two Onshore Wind Projects in France

Project Acquisition

RWE has secured two onshore wind projects in the latest French Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE) tender. These projects, Balinot and Langonnet, have a combined capacity of 21.6 MW and are fully owned by RWE.

Project Details

The Balinot project is located in the Oise department, while the Langonnet project is in Morbihan. Each project features three wind turbines with an installed capacity of 10.8 MW, collectively supplying low-carbon electricity to over 15,000 households.

Tender Overview

The CRE's 10th round of the PPE2 Multiannual Energy Program aimed for a total capacity of 925 MW. Out of more than 90 submissions, 42 projects were selected, totaling 952.8 MW at an average price of €86.6/MWh.

RWE's Market Position

In 2025, RWE has commissioned over 83 MW of wind and solar projects in France. The company secured 82 MW in the 2024 CRE onshore wind tenders, bringing its total awarded capacity to 172.6 MW for onshore wind and 19.6 MWac for solar in 2025. RWE's portfolio in France includes approximately 1.6 GW of onshore wind and 1 GWp of solar projects at various development stages, with 408 MW awarded in CRE tenders and 275 MW commissioned since 2020.
