ProLogium advances Dunkirk gigafactory infrastructure and localization

On-site execution

Multiple site and infrastructure workstreams are now underway at the Dunkirk gigafactory, including electrical infrastructure installation and grid connection works that support a planned power-up of the construction site in early October 2026. An HSE on-site coordination meeting in early September aligned active contractors under a single, integrated site framework, moving the project from preparatory work into coordinated execution.

Design and sustainability

The gigafactory will use purpose-built construction and design technologies for high-technology battery manufacturing, including a bespoke cleanroom and dry room solution. The facility is targeting BREEAM certification as part of its sustainability commitments.

European supply chain and localization

The Dunkirk site is positioned as a cornerstone of ProLogium’s European battery ecosystem, intended to link R&D, intellectual property, manufacturing, supply chain and talent development on European soil. The project aims to support more diversified critical supply chains and strengthen regional industrial resilience, with regional authorities working to integrate the facility into the Hauts-de-France industrial ecosystem.

Local workforce and engagement

ProLogium is building local capabilities and talent pipelines, participating in the Fabuleuse Factory event from 30 September to 3 October in Dunkirk and running training and partnership programmes with local high schools, universities and training centres to support long-term operations in the region.
