Introduction of MAGICMIX Software
On September 3, 2025, PPG announced the launch of its MAGICMIX software, a new addition to the PPG LINQ digital ecosystem for body shops. This software is designed to enhance repair quality by recommending the most effective products and combinations of hardener and thinner/reducer based on current environmental conditions.
Integration with Existing Solutions
MAGICMIX works in conjunction with PPG's MAGICBOX mixing room solution and the MagicSensor device. It receives real-time temperature and humidity data from the spray booth or designated application area, ensuring that painters and technicians can make informed product choices regardless of weather conditions.
Benefits of Real-Time Data
By using real-time environmental data, MAGICMIX helps reduce the occurrence of short- and long-term paint defects, ensuring a long-lasting, high-quality finish. This approach minimizes uncertainty about product selection, prevents waste, and frees up productive time for technicians.
Expert Insight
Alban d’Epenoux, PPG's global marketing director for Automotive Refinish, emphasized the importance of considering temperature and humidity variations across different geographical areas and times of the day.
