PETRONAS enhances myPROdata with Agentic AI

Key highlights
  • Integration of Agentic AI into myPROdata to autonomously analyse and connect geological, geophysical, engineering and other upstream data.
  • Target to attract approximately RM50 billion–RM60 billion in annual upstream investments through improved data-driven decision making.
  • Aim to shorten time from discovery to first hydrocarbon from 100 months to 50 months.
  • Iraya Energies appointed Consortium Lead Integrator to deliver technical, commercial and security foundations for the rollout.

Programme

PETRONAS, via Malaysia Petroleum Management (MPM), has engaged Iraya Energies to add Agentic AI capabilities to PETRONAS myPROdata, the web-based platform that provides access to subsurface and surface data for Malaysia’s exploration blocks, discovered resources and producing fields.

Platform capabilities

The enhanced myPROdata will integrate geological, geophysical, engineering and other relevant datasets and use Agentic AI to autonomously analyse and connect multiple data sources. It will let users navigate, analyse and derive insights from complex upstream data and support end-to-end evaluations from prospect identification and resource assessment to development and commercial viability analysis.

Goals and governance

MPM says the upgrade aims to enable faster, more informed investment decisions to help attract about RM50 billion–RM60 billion in annual upstream investment and to reduce the journey from discovery to first hydrocarbon from 100 months to 50 months. Iraya Energies will act as Consortium Lead Integrator, responsible for establishing the technical, commercial and security foundations for the AI-powered rollout, while PETRONAS positions MPM as shaper, accelerator and regulator of the upstream investment ecosystem.
