Shutdown and cause

Trans Thai-Malaysia (Thailand) Limited (TTM), the joint venture between PTT and PETRONAS, has initiated a temporary shutdown of the Songkhla Export Pipeline after an issue was identified during a routine inspection.

Supply continuity measures

PETRONAS says it recognises the potential impact on gas supply to customers in Malaysia and Thailand and is taking proactive measures to ensure continuity to customers in Malaysia. The company states its integrated supply network provides the flexibility to sustain supply and that it is working closely with partners and customers to maintain system stability.

Safety and restart

The pipeline will resume operations only once it has been confirmed safe to do so. PETRONAS emphasises that it is upholding safety and operational integrity while ensuring reliability of supply to domestic customers in support of Malaysia's energy security.
