Petrobras P-33 heads from Açu Port to Rio Grande for sustainable recycling

Departure and destination
The P-33 started navigation on Thursday, July 23, towards the Rio Grande shipyard (RS), where it will undergo a sustainable recycling process. The platform had been docked at the Açu Port in São João da Barra (RJ) since February 2024.
Ownership and dismantling
The platform was sold in 2023 to Gerdau S.A., in partnership with Grupo Ecovix, the operator of the Rio Grande Shipyard. Petrobras monitors all stages of the dismantling plan to ensure compliance with the best Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) practices of the global industry.
Sustainable recycling policy
P-33 will occupy the space previously intended for P-32, the first floating production unit to follow Petrobras' Sustainable Recycling policy, which emphasizes sustainability, value generation, safety and respect for the environment and people.
Decommissioning outlook
By 2030, Petrobras' Strategic Plan foresees the decommissioning of 18 platforms, comprising seven fixed platforms and 11 floating units.
