The Board of Directors of Petrobras approved the final investment decision for the RPBC Biorrefino project on 19/06/26, with an estimated investment of approximately US$1.2 billion. Petrobras will move to final contracting and expects to start works by the end of 2026.

The project provides for a dedicated plant at the Presidente Bernardes Refinery (RPBC) in Cubatão (SP) to produce aviation bio-kerosene (bioQAV) and renewable diesel. The facility is planned to have capacity to produce up to 15,000 barrels per day of renewable fuels, with operations expected to start in 2030.

Strategic context

The project is included in Petrobras' Business Plan 2026-2030 and was placed in the Base Implementation Portfolio considering the company's financing conditions.
