Approval to start bidding
Petrobras approved the start of the bidding procedure for contracting, in EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) modality, a new Diesel Hydrotreating Unit (HDT) at the Presidente Getúlio Vargas Refinery (Repar).
Project scope and status
The Repar New Mediums HDT Project is designed for a total processing capacity of 5,500 cubic meters per day of Diesel S-10 and is listed in Petrobras' Investment Opportunities Portfolio under Evaluation in the 2026–2030 Business Plan. The authorization to begin the bidding procedure is a project stage and does not constitute a definitive decision to implement the venture; execution remains subject to technical and economic evaluations and the company's governance for investment projects.
Expected impact
If approved and executed, the Repar unit, together with similar projects planned for the Alberto Pasqualini Refinery (REFAP) and the Paulínia Refinery (REPLAN), could increase Petrobras' Diesel S-10 production capacity by approximately 70 thousand barrels per day, supporting greater supply of higher-quality fuels to meet national market demand.
