ORLEN New Power completed the acquisition of a 216 MW hybrid renewable energy project in the municipality of Kazimierz Biskupi, Greater Poland. The complex comprises a 180 MW solar PV farm and a 36 MW wind farm and is expected to produce approximately 315 GWh of electricity annually, enough for nearly 143,000 households.

Partners and execution

The assets were acquired from Polish developers ONDE and Neo Energy Group, which retain involvement: ONDE will act as general contractor and Neo Energy Group will manage construction. Energa Green Development will oversee construction on behalf of the ORLEN Group.

Technical approach and synergies

The wind farm will use nine Vestas V136 turbines (4 MW each). The project will employ cable pooling so the solar and wind installations share grid connection infrastructure, improving utilisation of available capacity and reducing weather‑related variability.

Timeline and cluster strategy

Construction is scheduled to begin in the third quarter of 2026, with first energisation expected in early 2028 and full commercial operations in the second quarter of 2028. Located about 8 km from the Kleczew Solar & Wind facility, Kazimierz Biskupi will form, with Kleczew, one of Poland’s largest onshore renewable clusters at a combined 485 MW, enabling operational and maintenance synergies.
