Investment in Waste-Water Treatment
OMV Petrom has completed a 20-million-euro investment at the Petrobrazi refinery to modernize its waste-water treatment systems. The project involved covering existing tanks and installing modern systems for capturing and treating wastewater gas. These gases undergo chemical treatment, activated carbon filtration, and thermal oxidation for efficient cleaning.
Ongoing Modernization Efforts
This initiative is part of a broader modernization program at the Petrobrazi refinery, where over 2 billion euros have been invested since 2005. The focus has been on modernizing facilities, improving energy efficiency, and preparing for a transition to low-carbon fuels.
Future Projects
OMV Petrom is also working on a significant new project, valued at approximately 750 million euros, to construct a sustainable fuels production unit. This unit will include a green hydrogen component, further supporting the transition to sustainable energy solutions.
