Memorandum of Understanding

NEXTCHEM and Siemens Energy have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Italy–Germany intergovernmental summit in Rome. The agreement aims to foster collaboration in developing innovative solutions for industrial processes and resource efficiency.

Focus Areas

The partnership will explore a wide range of technologies, including low-carbon fuels such as hydrogen, methanol, and ammonia. It also covers the development of sustainable and circular materials for industrial applications.

Advanced Technologies

The collaboration extends to advanced thermal cycles for new-generation nuclear modular reactors, including Small Modular Reactors and Advanced Modular Reactors. Additionally, the integration of energy systems based on methanol-powered fuel cells is a key focus, particularly for marine propulsion and onboard auxiliary systems.

Digital Platforms and Efficiency

The partnership will also involve advanced digital platforms, such as digital twins, artificial intelligence, and remote-operation technologies. These initiatives aim to improve efficiency in energy-intensive sectors like data centers and hard-to-abate industries.
