NEXTCHEM (MAIRE) Secures Urea Technology Contract in China

Key highlights
  • The urea plant will have a capacity of 2,700 tons per day.
  • Ultra-Low Energy technology reduces steam consumption by 35% and cooling water usage by 16%.
  • This is the tenth global application of the technology and the eighth in China.
  • Key equipment will use E-type super duplex stainless steel.

Project Overview

A new urea plant in Eastern China will be developed using Stamicarbon's NX STAMI™ Urea technology. The plant will have a production capacity of 2,700 metric tons per day.

Energy Efficiency

The plant will implement the Ultra-Low Energy design, which reduces steam consumption by 35% and cooling water usage by 16% compared to conventional methods. This is achieved through innovative high-pressure steam utilization and an advanced pool reactor design.

Technology Application

This project marks the tenth global application of the Ultra-Low Energy technology and the eighth in China, with seven plants already operational. The technology ensures low biuret content and high-quality prills in the final product.

Material and Equipment

Key equipment, including the pool reactor and stripper, will be constructed using E-type super duplex stainless steel, showcasing Stamicarbon's expertise in material science and industrial applications.
