Deal overview
Nel ASA has signed a framework agreement with Hydrasun to create dedicated assembly and integration capabilities in Europe for Nel’s modular MC Series PEM electrolyser platform. The partnership complements Nel’s existing US integration setup and is intended to widen delivery capabilities for the European market.
Scope of work
Hydrasun will develop production capabilities to assemble and integrate Nel’s containerised PEM systems, procuring and manufacturing the balance of plant around the electrolyser stacks. PEM stack production will continue at Nel’s Wallingford, Connecticut facility.
Local investment and jobs
The initiative is supported by the Scottish Government’s Just Transition Fund and will fund upgrades to Hydrasun’s Aberdeen facilities to support clean technology manufacturing. Hydrasun says the project could create up to 12 new jobs and safeguard 11 existing roles.
