Incident
In mid-August the Natref refinery experienced an unplanned shutdown of a downstream unit which coincided with a planned shutdown of a separate unit. These simultaneous outages impacted refinery production and product supply.
Operational measures
Natref has implemented measures to keep the affected unit operational until end September, to improve refinery continuity and support more stable jet fuel availability.
Supply impact and stakeholders
The measures provide additional flexibility to continue supplying jet fuel to key customers, including those at OR Tambo International Airport. Sasol is working with key industry stakeholders to ensure continuity of product supply to customers.
