Production Capacity Increase
The Mitsubishi Chemical Group (MCG) has announced plans to boost its annual production capacity of SoarnoL™ ethylene vinyl alcohol copolymer (EVOH) resin by 21,000 tons in the United Kingdom. This increase will take effect in July 2025.
Construction Timeline
Construction for the expanded production facility is scheduled to begin in April 2023, with operations expected to commence by July 2025.
Product Applications
SoarnoL™ is a high gas-barrier resin primarily used in the production of packaging materials. These materials help to prolong the flavor and quality of foods, thereby reducing food waste.
Recyclability
Multilayer films containing SoarnoL™ are certified as highly recyclable when used in combination with MCG’s recycling compatibilizer, Soaresin™. This aligns with the increasing demand for eco-friendly products.
