TotalEnergies Secures Block 8 Offshore Lebanon Exploration Permit

Agreement Details

TotalEnergies, along with partners Eni and QatarEnergy, has signed an agreement with the Lebanese government to enter the Block 8 offshore exploration permit. The consortium holds a 35% stake each for TotalEnergies and Eni, while QatarEnergy holds 30%.

Exploration Plans

The initial work program for Block 8 includes conducting a 1,200 km² 3D seismic survey. This survey aims to assess the exploration potential of the area further.

Focus Shift

Following the unsuccessful drilling of the Qana well on Block 9, the consortium will now concentrate its exploration efforts on Block 8. This decision is made in collaboration with Lebanese authorities.
