Product debut
At Medica 2026 (November 16–19) LANXESS will present its Rely+On portfolio and debut Rely+On Medero, a new broad-spectrum disinfectant, at Hall 11, Booth E36.
Performance and chemistry
Rely+On Medero is reported to be highly effective within minutes against bacteria, mycobacteria, fungi, bacterial spores, viruses, and yeasts, and works reliably against biofilms of Pseudomonas aeruginosa and methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Its chemistry is based on the active oxygen Potassium Monopersulfate (Oxone) together with in-situ generated active chlorine, which LANXESS states does not induce acquired resistance, including in MRSA.
Approvals and intended use
The product is suitable for non-invasive medical devices and for hard surfaces in medical practices and hospitals, including intensive care units and isolation rooms. Rely+On Medero is approved as a disinfectant for medical devices and thus falls under Class IIa of the EU Medical Devices Regulation, and it is authorised as Product Type 2 under the Biocidal Products Regulation for non-medical hard surfaces.
Portfolio context and applications
LANXESS positions Rely+On Medero within its Rely+On range alongside established products such as Rely+On Virkon and Rely+On PeraSafe. The Rely+On portfolio is used globally in healthcare and the public sector and has been applied in emergency scenarios including SARS-CoV-2, avian influenza, and noroviruses.
