The project will require a low double-digit million euro investment.
Global Expansion Plans
In addition to the German site, LANXESS's Advanced Industrial Intermediates (AII) business unit has plans to expand its Indian site in Nagda. Recent process improvements at this location have already boosted benzyl alcohol capacity.

Benzyl alcohol from LANXESS is utilized in various applications, including as a solvent for coatings, color pastes, and construction chemicals. It also serves as a high-purity preservative for injection solutions and cosmetics, and as a synthetic chemical. Other uses include adhesives, plastics, textile auxiliaries, fragrances, flavorings, and agricultural chemicals.
