Manufacturing and Installation
The monopiles were produced in Spain at a specialized facility through a strategic partnership between Navantia Seanergies and Windar Renovables. Van Oord was responsible for the installation, utilizing the heavy-lift vessel Svanen to complete the task.
Timeline and Capacity
Construction is progressing as planned, with the Windanker project expected to be operational by the end of 2026. Once completed, it will contribute to the Baltic Hub, increasing Iberdrola's installed capacity in the Baltic Sea to over 1,100 MW.
Partnership and Ownership
Since December 2024, Kansai, a Japanese energy company, has held a 49% stake in the Windanker project, while Iberdrola maintains a majority stake of 51%.
