Indian Oil Corporation Chooses Univation's UNIPOL PE Process for Major Production Line in India

Key highlights
  • The production line will be located at IOCL's Paradip Petrochemical Complex in India.
  • It will have a capacity of 650,000 tons per annum of polyethylene.
  • The line will produce LLDPE and HDPE using Univation's technologies.
  • Univation's PREMIER APC+ 3.0 will enhance process control and efficiency.

Project Overview

Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) has chosen Univation's UNIPOL™ PE Process Technology for a new production line at its Paradip Petrochemical Complex in India. This facility is designed to produce 650,000 tons of polyethylene annually.

Production Capabilities

The new line will manufacture both linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) and high-density polyethylene (HDPE). This flexibility allows IOCL to address a wide range of applications in the Indian polyethylene market, including flexible and rigid packaging, high-pressure pipes, and durable goods.

Technological Integration

IOCL will utilize Univation's UCAT™ J Unimodal, PRODIGY™ Bimodal, and ACCLAIM™ Unimodal HDPE Technologies. These technologies enable IOCL to meet stringent performance standards for various polyethylene applications.

Metallocene PE Production

To tap into the growing demand for metallocene polyethylene in India, IOCL will employ Univation's XCAT™ Metallocene Catalysts. This will allow the production of advanced metallocene polyethylene grades for high-end market segments, such as shipping packaging and high-performance films.

Process Control

Univation's PREMIER™ APC+ 3.0 Advanced Process Control Platform will be implemented to enhance operational performance. This platform is engineered to optimize raw material yields and ensure efficient product grade transitions.
