- The expert groups are intensifying their partnership after previous exchanges and some joint activities.
- The formal collaboration aims to combine expertise, resources and networks to address adoption challenges for SAF and advanced biofuels.
- AMF Task 66 runs an online seminar series to share recent SAF research among participating countries and stakeholders.
- IEA Bioenergy Task 39 will contribute to the seminar series to provide additional insights, boost relevance and stimulate discussion.
Background
After fruitful exchanges and certain joint activities in the past, the expert groups of IEA Bioenergy TCP Task 39: Biofuels to Decarbonize Transport and IEA Advanced Motor Fuels TCP Task 66: Recent Progress in SAF Research are intensifying their partnership.
Collaboration objectives
The formal collaboration intends to combine expertise, resources and networks from both tasks to overcome key challenges in the adoption of Sustainable Aviation Fuels (SAF) and advanced biofuels, with an emphasis on supporting decarbonisation in transport, especially aviation.
Seminar activities
AMF Task 66 focuses on information exchange through a series of online seminars on recent SAF research. IEA Bioenergy Task 39 will contribute to that seminar series to provide additional insights, enhance the seminars' relevance and visibility, and stimulate fruitful discussions among participating countries and interested stakeholders.
