Meeting overview
On September 9, Hou Qijun, Party Secretary and Chairman of Sinopec Group, met in Xi'an with Zhao Yide, Shaanxi Provincial Party Secretary, and Zhao Gang, Deputy Provincial Party Secretary and Governor, to exchange on further deepening cooperation. Provincial officials including Li Jun and Lu Laisheng and Sinopec assistant general managers and chief engineers attended.
Sinopec commitments
Hou thanked the provincial leadership for long‑term support and said Sinopec will implement central guidance, pursue a “second entrepreneurship” to promote high‑quality development, and advance the company’s six major strategies and six major tough battles. He signalled plans to align with Shaanxi’s needs and deepen practical cooperation in oil and gas exploration and development, infrastructure construction, and to expand new businesses such as geothermal development and wind and solar generation.
Shaanxi priorities and cooperation focus
Zhao Yide emphasised Shaanxi’s push to implement Xi Jinping’s instructions, using the Yulin Energy Revolution Innovation Demonstration Zone to drive the energy sector and build a trillion‑level modern energy industry cluster. He invited Sinopec to strengthen strategic alignment, deepen industry‑academia‑research integration, and accelerate high‑quality projects in high‑end energy chemicals, comprehensive energy services and clean energy, while the province pledges to provide a first‑class business environment and supportive services.
