Honeywell expands OT Cybersecurity Suite with AI monitoring and secure media controls
- Five new capabilities: SMX Portable Scanner, Cyber Proactive Defense (CPD), Cyber GRC, Data Diode and OT Security Operations Center.
- CPD is an AI-powered, real-time OT monitoring solution that correlates alerts across process and automation tools.
- SMX Portable Scanner inspects USBs, Windows machines and air-gapped systems with antivirus and threat intelligence.
- Cyber GRC automates evidence collection and audit reporting to cut manual work from weeks to hours; the suite is available now for manufacturing, energy and critical infrastructure.
Threat context
Industrial cyber-attacks are increasing in frequency and sophistication. The World Economic Forum’s Global Cybersecurity Outlook 2026 found only 32% of organisations with industrial environments actively monitor OT systems and 20% maintain dedicated OT security teams, underscoring gaps in OT visibility and capability.
New capabilities added
The expanded OT Cybersecurity Suite introduces five capabilities: Secure Media Exchange (SMX) Portable Scanner for deep inspection of USBs, Windows machines and air-gapped systems using antivirus and threat intelligence; Cyber Proactive Defense (CPD), an AI-powered monitoring solution that correlates alerts across process and automation tools to prioritise and mitigate threats in real time; Cyber Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) to automate evidence collection and audit reporting; a Data Diode for unidirectional, secure data transfer; and a managed OT Security Operations Center (SOC) offering 24/7 vendor-agnostic network and endpoint monitoring and incident response.
Deployment and intent
The suite is engineered for deployment across manufacturing, energy and critical infrastructure and is available now. Honeywell positions the expansion to help organisations move from reactive postures to unified, proactive cyber resilience for operational technology.
