Deal

Hyundai Engineering has signed a Project Implementation Agreement with JSC NC QazaqGaz for the Karachaganak Gas Processing Plant. The move follows a Letter of Award Hyundai Engineering received from QazaqGaz in May and is intended to maintain continuity from initial engineering through to the final EPC contract.

Project scope

The plant is designed to process 5 billion m³ of raw gas per year, covering engineering work that will transition into execution under the eventual EPC contract.

Strategic impact

Through the project Hyundai Engineering will establish a presence across all three key Central Asian energy markets—Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, and Kazakhstan—and the agreement is cited as contributing to stronger energy cooperation between Korea and Kazakhstan. The implementation pact is expected to further accelerate negotiations for the main contract.
