Grace acquires Chevron's interest in ART Hydroprocessing
- Grace acquired Chevron U.S.A. Inc.'s interest in Advanced Refining Technologies (ART Hydroprocessing™).
- ART will produce catalysts for fixed and ebullated bed resid hydroprocessing, distillate hydrotreating and the EnRich® portfolio for renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel.
- ART will remain the exclusive hydroprocessing catalyst supplier to Chevron Lummus Global (CLG) for use in newly licensed fixed and ebullated bed process units.
- Under a separate agreement, CLG will develop, sell and support hydrocracking, lubes and EnHance™ isomerization catalysts for renewables hydroprocessing.

W. R. Grace & Co. acquired Chevron U.S.A. Inc.'s interest in Advanced Refining Technologies (ART Hydroprocessing™), making ART fully owned by Grace.
Product scope and customer agreements
Under full Grace ownership, ART will continue to produce catalysts for fixed and ebullated bed resid hydroprocessing, distillate hydrotreating, and the EnRich® portfolio of guard and hydrotreating catalysts for renewable diesel and sustainable aviation fuel production. ART will also continue as the exclusive supplier of hydroprocessing catalysts to Chevron Lummus Global (CLG) for use in newly licensed fixed and ebullated bed process units. Separately, CLG will develop, sell and support hydrocracking, lubes, and EnHance™ isomerization catalysts for renewables hydroprocessing.
Strategic rationale
Grace framed the acquisition as a move to deepen its commitment to the hydroprocessing sector and to bring customers more value through its manufacturing network and technical expertise. The companies said the transactions will let ART and CLG focus on market areas aligned with their capabilities while remaining committed to the hydroprocessing catalyst industry and to helping customers grow profitability across a variety of feedstocks.
