Capacity Expansion
Evonik's Coating Additives business line is increasing capacities for two additive product groups used in architectural paints: TEGO® Phobe hydrophobing agents and TEGO® Viscoplus polyurethane thickeners. The expanded capacities will be available from October.
Market Demand
This expansion is a response to the rising demand for additives in architectural paints. The additional capacity in Europe aims to enhance both European and global supply security.
Product Details
Hydrophobing agents like TEGO® Phobe 1659 and TEGO® Phobe 1409 are used to provide facade paints with a water-repellent finish. These agents are based on silicone resins and polysiloxanes, offering efficient water absorption reduction and a strong water-beading effect.
Thickener Characteristics
The TEGO® Viscoplus range includes polyurethane thickeners that meet various customer requirements. These thickeners are liquid, contain no organic solvents, and can be easily combined due to their high compatibility.
