Dow launches VOLTRICELL battery cell materials platform

Key highlights
  • VOLTRICELL is a platform designed to optimize electrochemistry inside the cell and to support current and emerging chemistries, including sodium‑ion, silicon‑anode and solid‑state batteries.
  • The portfolio consolidates binders, dispersants, rheology modifiers, surfactants and specialty additives for electrodes, separators, coatings and cell packaging.
  • Dow will showcase VOLTRICELL and fire‑protection materials VORAFORCE TP1415, DOWSIL EF‑6559 and DOWSIL FC‑2024 at The Battery Show North America 2026 (Booth #3000).
  • VOLTRICELL is positioned to help manufacturers address energy density, cycle life, charging speed and scalability across multiple chemistries and manufacturing approaches.

Platform launch

Dow introduced VOLTRICELL, a materials platform intended to optimize battery manufacturing processes and improve performance for today’s batteries and emerging sodium‑ion, silicon‑anode and solid‑state technologies. The platform is presented as the company’s first set of materials specifically designed to support electrochemistry inside the cell.

Technical scope

VOLTRICELL brings together binders, dispersants, rheology modifiers, surfactants and specialty additives that can be selected and combined to support electrodes, separators, coatings and battery cell packaging. The offering is framed to address manufacturers’ needs to increase energy density, extend cycle life, speed charging and scale production across multiple chemistries and manufacturing approaches.

Fire‑protection and application support

Alongside VOLTRICELL, Dow will display fire‑protection materials including VORAFORCE TP1415 polyol for fiber‑reinforced composites, DOWSIL EF‑6559 expanding silicone foam and DOWSIL FC‑2024 RTV coating, each designed to form protective ceramic layers or improve flame performance in battery assemblies.

Customer support and showcase

Dow links the platform to its global MobilityScience Studios and technical support network to help customers advance cell design through system integration and will engage attendees at The Battery Show North America 2026 (Booth #3000).
