Project Overview
Essar Future Energy Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Gujarat to establish a bio-fuel complex in Devbhumi Dwarka district. The project involves an investment of ₹5,100 crore and aims to process 1 million tonnes of feedstock per annum.
Timeline and Employment
The bio-fuel complex is expected to commence operations by 2029, generating approximately 350 direct employment opportunities. The project will be developed as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) unit.
Decarbonization Focus
The initiative will focus on providing clean fuel solutions for hard-to-abate sectors such as aviation, shipping, and road transport, contributing to the decarbonization efforts in these industries.
Government Collaboration
The MoU was signed at the Vibrant Gujarat Regional Conference in Rajkot, with the presence of key government officials, including Hon’ble Cabinet Minister Shri Rushikeshbhai Patel and Hon’ble Minister of State Shri Kaushikbhai Vekaria.
