License Award

Eni has secured the offshore exploration License O1 in Libya, following the Libyan NOC's 2025 open licensing round. The license is granted to a consortium led by Eni, in partnership with QatarEnergy.

Exploration Area

The awarded block spans approximately 29,000 sqkm in the offshore extension of the Sirte Oil & Gas Province. It holds significant exploration potential, with areas lacking 3D seismic coverage that may contain additional hydrocarbon accumulations.

Consortium Plans

Under the agreement, Eni will operate the concession, with the consortium holding a 100% stake during exploration and development phases. The partners plan to conduct 2D/3D seismic acquisition and drilling activities over the first five-year exploration period.

Agreement Signing

The formal signing of the agreement is anticipated in Tripoli before the end of February, with representatives from NOC and consortium partners present.
