DuPont Sugar Separation Advisor for AmberLite chromatography resins
- Interactive digital tool evaluates chromatographic separation potential and recommends DuPont™ AmberLite™ resins for further testing.
- Users select a target sugar and up to four additional sugars or impurities to generate a predicted chromatogram from laboratory separation data.
- The advisor provides a qualitative separation assessment and resin suggestions but does not extrapolate beyond available experimental evidence.
- Available via DuPont’s Resource Center Premium with free registration; intended to focus lab testing and accelerate process development decisions.
Purpose
DuPont launched the Sugar Separation Advisor to help sugar and sweetener manufacturers rapidly evaluate chromatographic separation potential and identify candidate DuPont™ AmberLite™ resins for recovery and purification tasks.
Functionality
Users choose a target sugar or sweetener, add up to four additional sugars or impurities to represent their feed stream, and generate a predicted chromatogram based on DuPont’s experimental separation data. The platform provides a qualitative separation assessment and suggests promising resin candidates to prioritise for laboratory testing.
Data basis and scope
The tool is built on decades of chromatography application experience and years of laboratory separation data; it displays bench-generated separation results for relevant sugar–resin combinations and does not use a theoretical model to predict performance beyond the available experimental evidence. Cited targets and applications include allulose, tagatose, sorbitol, oligosaccharides, xylose, inositol, high‑fructose corn syrup, beet sugar, dextrose enrichment, polysaccharides, polyols, high‑purity sugars and rare sugars.
Access and recommended next steps
The advisor is accessible through DuPont’s Resource Center Premium with registration. DuPont advises customers to use the tool to narrow candidate resins, then collaborate with technical experts to evaluate specific feed composition, process conditions, location, operating requirements and validation needs before final resin selection.
