On July 1, 2026, Covestro completed the acquisition of two former Vencorex production sites for HDI derivatives located in Rayong, Thailand, and Freeport, Texas, USA.
Capacity and network
The additional sites expand Covestro’s production footprint for HDI derivatives and complement its existing network across Europe, Asia and North America, increasing capacity to respond to customer demand.
Customer impact and applications
HDI derivatives are building blocks for high-performance polyurethane coatings, adhesives and sealants used in automotive, infrastructure, marine, wood furniture, electronics and other industrial applications; the transaction is positioned to enhance regional availability, reliable supply and technical support for coatings and adhesives customers.
