Cheniere Completes Corpus Christi Stage 3; 5,000th LNG Cargo Exported
- CCL Stage 3 achieved substantial completion on August 28 with handover of the seventh and final train by Bechtel.

Project completion
Corpus Christi Liquefaction Stage 3 (CCL Stage 3) reached substantial completion on August 28 when Bechtel Energy handed over care, custody and control of the seventh and final train to Cheniere. The Company issued full notice to proceed on CCL Stage 3 to Bechtel in June 2022, and first LNG production from the first train occurred in December 2024.
Production capacity
The Stage 3 works expand Cheniere’s liquefaction capacity by over 20%, increasing its U.S. Gulf Coast production capacity to approximately 56 million tonnes per annum.
Cargo milestone and exports
Cheniere marked its 5,000th exported LNG cargo with the loading of the Yari LNG, which departed Sabine Pass on August 29 en route to Asia. Since the company’s first cargo in 2016 it has supplied more than 340 million tonnes of LNG, and its platform now represents over 10% of total global LNG capacity.
