Introduction of Borstar Nextension PE Technology
Borealis has unveiled its Borstar Nextension Polyethylene (PE) technology, marking a significant advancement in polyolefin innovation. This new platform incorporates proprietary single-site catalysts, enhancing toughness, sealing performance, and processability for packaging solutions.
Support for Recycling and Waste Reduction
The technology enables mono-material solutions, replacing existing multimaterial products, which simplifies sorting and recycling. This aligns with the EU's Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, supporting recycling and waste reduction targets.
Development Materials for Market Needs
Borealis introduces two high-performance development materials. One offers double the toughness of first-generation metallocene PE materials, suitable for industrial and food packaging. The other features a breakthrough sealing profile, reducing sealing initiation temperature by over 15%, ideal for lamination and food packaging.
Complementary Technologies
The Borstar Nextension PE technology complements the Borstar Nextension Polypropylene (PP) technology, which was introduced in 2022, expanding Borealis' portfolio of efficient and recyclable solutions.
